I'm in the middle of a restoration on an 86 VFR. I'm about ready to paint it and was planning to go an original white/blue/red scheme. Unfortunately most of the stock decals have been discontinued by Honda. I know www.xtreemedecals.com has some of the decals, but they don't have several of the OEM decals that I want like the side stripe decals and the tank decal. Does anyone know where I can find them or have a set they'd be willing to sell?

Also, I would love to get some photo's of how the cowl and fairings mount in a couple of places that I can't get from the fiche images. Would someone be willing to send me a couple pics if I give details of what I'm looking for?

    Thanks in advance.

When I restored mine, I had my painter also paint what would have been decals, pretty simple graphics for the '86 and it turned out great. Unfortunately sold her before I went to digital cameras so I don't have any really good pics to show you. Lots of online history shots your painter may be able to use to help. I miss my '86.
Send us some pics as you do the work.

I guess that is the only option. You are right; the strips shouldn't be too hard and I did find the logo's and what looks to be the right Gold-winged Honda logo for the tank to slap on top of stripes so maybe that will work. I'll ask my buddy who is going to paint it if that'll work.

    As for pics; check here:

The tabs you see me molding in clear and black plastic are using the plastex (link) kit; I highly recommend it for repairs!

Thanks a lot! I had seen the reproductiondecals site, but apparently hadn't dug deep enough to find the those. That's great!

The upper cowl and the top of the tank have to be painted blue so the only thing missing here is the honda logo with the gold wings, but as long as the one that xtremedecals.com sells is the right size I'm in shape!

    http://www.xtremedecals.com/default...20&--woSECTIONSdatarq=180&--SECTIONSword=ww1&

Can anyone confirm that the honda symbol w/ gold wings and white letters (Honda Complex Wing) on the tank is approximately 6 x 3.25 inches as their site says?

I'm wrong; the text on their site clearly states that those tank logo's will be included as well:

    Honda VFR700 Interceptor
    14 pc. decal Set Includes:
    Gas tank stripe
Right & Left HONDA gas tank decals
    Right & Left fairing stripes
    HONDA decal for windscreen
Right & Left side panel stripes
    VFR upper rear cowl decal
    HONDA on rear cowl
Right & Left rear cowl stripes

Thank you very much David. I thought I was out of luck when I found that I couldn't get those decals from Honda!

I ended up ordering a whole set from reporductiondecals.com and have received them already. They look pretty good, but I haven't installed them yet as I am still waiting for a chance to paint the bike.
