I'm Dave and have just upgraded to a 98 VFR 800 after getting my unrestricted licence. My old ZZR 250 was a nice bike, but a little underpowered for my 6'3" 135kg frame, and the VFR basically sold me on the torque and the sound

 

Welcome to the forum.there are a ton of others in Australia on the boards.... so your not alone.....LOL..... The sound of the Vfour is definately intoxicating.....thats for sure enjoy the ol girl and get some pictures of her up as soon as you can.....

So far I've done nothing to it but my partner is buying me a tinted screen for christmas, so that'll be it's first mod. I've been on the hunt for some pillion grab handles (as it didn't come with any) and some bar risers as I'm quite big and heavy (Actually been looking at doing the '84 VF1000 handlebar mod, as the Genmar ones probably don't lift it enough and the Helibars are well out of my price range!). Hopefully they come up on here sometime soon!

Haha, first thing everyone mentions. Yes I know it's a bit gimpy but I had one on the ZZR and they're just too handy for me. I'm often picking up shopping etc on it, and it only has one helmet hook so it becomes too handy when I'm off to the bay (put the second helmet in it)
