My father handed down to me his 1984 Interceptor 1000 that he has owed since new. We used to ride together all throughout the 80`s & 90`s all over Ontario and Quebec. I have had a lot of bikes since those days, in 84 I also bought a new bike.....not sure if I should say here but it was a Suzuki 1150 lol. Dad & I had a gas on them and I`m very happy and proud that I`ll park Dad`s bike in my garage. I have a nice spot waiting next to my 05 zx10 trackbike.... I have not ridden on the street in 3 years now so I`m looking forward to ridding the vfr on sunny Sundays in the Vermont mountains.... I`m happy to see that there is a place I can go to get some info on this bike....it needs a lot of TLC and fork seals too lol .....but that`s what winter is for

Those Suzuki's are GREAT bikes. Big and heavy, but crazy reliable and they are supposed to make monster drag bikes.

You found the right place to keep your VFR healthy. Welcome to the forums.

    Picked up Dads VFR 1000

The bike looks alot better than I thought. Took it for a test drive and found out it has no front brakes!!! The fork seals are blown, been that way for years so the brake pads are soaked in oil ! LOL Dad told me ``just down shift you don`t need the brakes``

I`ve attached a few photos and once I fix her up I`ll take a few more. The tires are over 12 years old....and the fork seals and brake pads need changing. All in all in runs well and starts up 1st shot. I`ll change the chain and sproket also ( he lives on a gravel road ) !

Nice! Best of luck with it. There are some great roads in northern Vermont - the road over the "notch" at Smuggler's comes to mind
