Project for today was make a high mount mid pipe for my existing 2bros pipe. I started with pieces of 2" and 2 1/8" exhaust pipe I had left over from something else. I had 2 mandrel bent 90 s that I used to configure the right angles to clear the tire and position the pipe like I wanted. there were 4 separate pieces that got welded together then painted with 2000 degree black. Also had to weld rings for the springs. I also had to make a bracket to support the top mount of the can. Took most all day but I would rather make my own mid pipe than spend 100 or more if you can even find the mid by itself. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Love your work

I recently started a thread called hi rise pipe..

You would not believe the BS to try to get a hi rise link pipe :(

That being said I told my flat mate "f#*k this, I am buying a pipe bender and am going to make my own".

After seeing your post I am more motivated to give it a go.

Do you think the hi-rise location will be a problem for pillons. I know saddle bags are a no-go (absolutely no loss for me).

Let me know what you think..

I haven't had 2up on the bike and I don't see a problem with clearance, but I haven't tried. I did space the passenger peg out a 1/2 inch though to make sure the pipe didn't rattle on it. If you had a pipe bender you wouldn't have to weld. You still need to weld on the eyes for the can springs unless your can has a clamp instead. But that pipe is hard to bend with out kinking unless you have a real hydraulic bender which the cheap ones i've seen are around 200 ish. I had most material already but if you had to buy it all would be like 30 dollars at most. The prices for just the link pipe were way to high for a 2 foot piece of chrome. Anyway give it a go its all trail and error and you usually learn new tricks along the way.
