My 18 y/o daughter. The youngest soldier in the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) I feel verry old.
Not sure how long she's been 18 for, but my middle one (girl) turned 18 this past December. My oldest (boy) will be 22 in April. Feeling old - yea, I can definitely relate to that.
heh heh looks like she just took it out of the plastic... get down and beat your face troop!!!!!!!!!!!!! take off that fukin cover!!!!!!!! what are you eyeballing me like that ? you wanna get married?!!??! damn new army...I bet they were allowed to have their cell phones after total control was over...
Leave me and my beret alone dammit... And yes I'm allowed to have my phone.... I need to hitch rides around post ... Haha only two females in the barracks sorta sucks :/
Crap, I must be ancient? My eldest daughter is outta the Corps, my YOUNGEST son is about to get out, end of the year (after a 5 year hitch mind you), and the baby in the family graduates HS in May, last one at home... What's after 'old'?
"Crusty" thats whats after old, you aren't that old ..you just started young.... besides, aren't Marines supposed to live forever?
November 11th, 1775, before we were a country, The Marine Corps was formed at Tun Tavern (naturally) in Philadelphia. On that first day, the first guy to sign up, was sitting on the porch, drinking some whiskey, when the second guy came out and the first guy said; "Son, have a seat, let me tell you about the Old Corps..." Yeah, I did start young... Marines do live forever; just like every embassy, the president and all ambassadors traveling abroad; who else would guard the Gates of every afterlife, and every holy being? Although I have it on good authority that Marines who are not working as above are kept in purgatory, cause we're too rowdy for any "Heaven" and all the "Hells" are too afraid we'd stomp on everyone there... As The First Lady said: "The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" ~ Eleanor Roosevelt And according to an anonymous Canadian citizen; "Marines are about the most peculiar breed of human beings I have ever witnessed. They treat their service as if it was some kind of cult, plastering their emblem on almost everything they own, making themselves up to look like insane fanatics with haircuts so short as to be ungentlemanly, worshiping their Commandant as if he was a god, and making weird animal noises like a band of savages. They'll fight like rabid dogs at the drop of a hat just for the sake of a little action and are the cockiest SOBs I've ever known. Most have the foulest mouths and drink well beyond man's normal limits, but their high spirits and sense of brotherhood set them apart and, generally speaking, of the United States Marines with whom I've come in contact, are the most professional warriors and the finest men I've had the pleasure to meet." Sorry, just realized I totally derailed this thread; I get carried away...
