Comstar Rejuvination

So my Comstars were looking kind bad... 64,000 have taken it's toll. I found a place through Iconic that restored a couple of sets of wheels off VF1000r's.... they looked good so I sent my wheels in.

Not bad I say.....

 

Um... yes. They came out great. At some point please give a little breakdown of the processes if you can.

Wheel is taken apart… rim and “spokes” are powered coated. Hub is cleaned and painted. Wheel assembled with new bolts and new bearings installed.
PS… disk drilled by TrueDisk…

Thanks Brother… well if you find a pair that are attached to a bike I would push through that pain … kind of like Stray Cat … bike comes along with the parts.

Since we are on wheels, how firm (read old) before we toss out old cush drives and replace?

 

In my experience old cush drive rubbers usually pack down with age and become obvious by the slop created. A cheap man like myself would pack out the slop using bits of inner tube cut to size.
