Riding in town and heard a strange noise. The CW bracket broke in half, found the tag on the swing arm, had to order a new light. CW is sending me a new bracket & t-shirt. It seems to have broken at the grain pattern in the metal, probably from prolonged vibration. Could of been much worse, luckily the tire threw it on the swingarm and it got trapped there. Can't find the light's pigtail, it got pulled apart at the plug under the seat. I didn't run over anything nor did the tire come in contact with the bracket, just fell off! Here's some pics:

How long have you had it? Did CW say this was something that happens on ocasion or that this was a fluke? I'll probably give mine an inspection just to be sure.

    Cheers!

Had it about 1 1/2 yrs. CW said it was a fluke, I concur. The bends sbould be perpendicular to the grain pattern, eh? Will use larger washers, perhaps spreading out the clamping force.

Frankly, that bracket looks like a cheap POS. Given the possible consequences, I'd give you the friendly advice that you should think twice before putting another one on your bike.
