    Hello All,

I purchased a '07 RWB this spring and have since put a few thousand miles on it. I have noticed a odd behavior on cold start which I will attempt to describe.

In cold weather (below 50F) the cold start functionality works perfectly. The bike starts and goes to a high idle until warm then ramps down to 1400 RPM. The "issue" I am having is that now that it is "warm" outside (80F or more), on startup the high-idle warmup doesn't appear to function. The bike will idle at ~1000-1100RPM and will slowly increase as the bike warms up. Once up to temps over 135F, the bike idles at an indicated 1400RPM.

The previous owner installed a staintune exhaust, PC3, and removed the PAIR system. Bike currently has ~13,000 miles on it

Is this behavior normal across 6th gens? Or is it something I should look further into? I have read in my searchs of bikes idling low until warm and it was chalked up to the wax unit. Maybe it would be advisable to replace this during my valve inspection/Throttle-body syncing?

    Thanks
    Brian

That's more or less how my bike behaves. Haven't had a chance to see its behavior in the cold yet.

I just replaced the fast idle wax unit and my bike behaves exactly the same way, though I have not tested it in <70F weather.

It's ok. We have nearly identical bikes. :thumb: My fast idle works fine when the air temp is genuinely cool. My bike has behaved in a similar manner to yours since I got it (at under 1500 miles - I'm over 6k now). The bike just doesn't seem to need it when the temp is above 60 (not sure of the exact cut-off). Here in GA, I would be surprised if the fast idle kicks in again until late October. That's how it worked last summer.

Oh, and a belated welcome to the madness to a fellow RWB owner! :hi2:

    Good job posting a pic.:photo:

Thanks for the peace of mind, all. Wasn't sure if I needed to look further into it when I did winter maintenance. Now I know that I don't!

I heard you guys liked pictures. Although, mine aren't quite up to date. The bike now has white rims and PR3s. The looks are amazing, but trying to keep them clean is absolutely impossible
