Thanks to the forum, I ordered a DID 530 (50) VM in gold for my generation 5.

Today, I get the box. In it is a DID 530 (50) ZVM and the invoice says "free upgrade".

Being skeptical, I check out the DID website. There are no specifications for this chain on the website.

The chain is stamped 50ZVM so I presume that it is a previous generation of the 530ZVM2 which is a high tensile strength chain.

My concern is that this is a high tensile strength chain which I don't need for my stock Gen 5 but my greater concern is this is some old thing that was sitting around in inventory and I would be better off with a new 530VM instead of this thing.

That being said, it looks new.

Any thoughts or recommendations? I have sent an email to DID and to the vendor.

    Thanks!

Now comes the hardest part. Waiting for the answer. i would have called them!

Of coarse some people would rather leave a note than actually talk to a person.

I just went though the same thing on my order, and went ahead and installed it. I'm not sure what is the problem with having an upgraded/more expensive chain. Anyway, I have put about 700m on it, and have done a few measurement checks, and all is well at his time.

It will be interesting to see if there is a reason someone wouldn't want it.
