I have a center stand for a 2004 VFR800 that I'm attempting to install. The right side bolt is broken off (previous owner), so it looks like I will need to remove the exhaust header to get enough space to remove that busted bolt.

If anyone can provide some really good high res pictures of their center stand setup, it would help me out a lot. I need to be able to see both sides of the center stands behind the fairing. I'll also need a few good pictures of how the spring is connect.

For some reason, this isn't covered in either the owner's or shop manuals.

    Thanks in advanced,

    Jonathan

Just so you know Jonathan, that broken centerstand bolt on the right side of your bike is a left-hand thread bolt. Meaning you turn it clockwise to remove it,counterclockwise to tighten it. It has thread locking agent on it and it's an absolute little basstid to remove. Hope these pics are helpful.

Not much to show you on the right side. Definitely gonna have to remove the exhaust to get in at that broken bolt.

Also, anyone know the if I can purchase a replacement bolt for the right hand side of the bike since it appears to be a left handed bolt?

Honda dealer should still have them. I had the drill into the bolt and weld a piece of metal to it in order to get it out. A little heat around the bolt should help break it loose. Good luck!

oh wow. Yea i've taken the plastics off, but I am having trouble with the bolts holding the exhaust together, feels like im going to shear off the bolt if I apply any more torque. Did you experience the same when removing the exhaust lines?
