Hey All! This is definitely going to sound like a silly question but does anyone have a guide to install the center stand on an '85 VF700F? I'm not sure if the previous owner modified the exhaust manifold but I can't for the life of me seem to match up the center stand with bike, finding a mounting point/etc. I've ridden a K7 with one and went back to inspect it but the mount is completely different.

Not sure what to say right off hand, but I can look at mine, compare it with service manual or exploded parts view. maybe take a pic or two, and be able to give you a decent description.
I will look into a little later this evening (it's 6:20pm here)

    Regards

It would be awesome if you could do that; I've tried to match it to my exploded views but something just isn't right (either with how I'm reading it or in actuality).

Not sure how much this will help but the center hooks on directly under the shock linkage on the same bracket.
The pin for the center stand is held tight by a pinch bolt on either side.

Here are some pics you may have to download them and reorganize so the zoomed out pic is followed by a matching close up pic.

    IMAG0197.jpg
Right side you can see spring and pinch bolt
    IMAG0198.jpg
Left side you can see pinch bolt, shock mount and exhaust
    IMAG0199.jpg
From front and underneath this and the rest of the pics are of the bike on its stand
    IMAG0200.jpg
    From behind and underneath
    IMAG0202.jpg
    From back right underneath

If you need more or different pics or an explanation of what the pic actually shows let me know.

I imagine either the pin is missing or the bracket is different? Hopefully it's just a matter of turning things right

Oh and the lite kick tab will be leftside sort of on top when stand is up, and toward the back when stand is in use.

Hope this helps let me know.

This is perfect and I owe you a beer - looks like the bracket is a little different and one of the actual pinch bolts is missing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to take pictures and helping me out!
