My throttle is slow to return and what I have found is the carb spindle seems to be sticking. I'm not sure if it should snap shut, I assume it should but before I pull the carbs I would like to know what it should do.

Is the throttle cable hooked up? could be that, but if not, yes it should somewhat snap back on it's own.

All good now, took a long time to get them to free up but now they snap shut. Enrichers were all stuck as well never needed the choke so it wasn't a problem but freed them up anyway. Thanks again

Was it just gummed up or a clearance issue or missing a spring or ???

Best to use a light oil (4-in-1 is good) to lube the throttle shafts. Set carbs on each side for a few minutes while dripping oil around shafts and letting it soak in. A MUST if the carbs have been soaked in any cleaning solution or ultrasoniced.

To lube choke plungers, slightly pull back the rubber seals and add oil.

A missing spring will cause this, it will also cause severe damage if that is whats going on.

No springs missing, just gummed up, was working ok but would only return slowly, all working fine now but took many hours with penetrene working the butterflys back and forth before they decided to snap shut on their own
