With my big hands there is no way in he77 I was getting the bulbs out without taking the front cowl off. Maybe the dash panel and side dash panels work for the high beams but forget about getting to the low beams. After completing it I agree that the side panels didn't necessarily have to come off but it made thing a lot easier to get the front cowl off.

Action...I can relate. The first two recalls I did this Spring there were one or two low beams that I ended up pulling back the boot, releasing the little clip, and pulling the whole bulb assembly out of the cowl. Another I ended up wrecking the bulb...no problem...Honda bought the guy a new one. I hope they ask for harnesses back from the dealers, they're gonna get a whole lot of harnesses with cut off and tortured headlight couplers. Maybe they'll get the idea.

Well, I did it. I ended up having to take the side fairings off to make it happen.
It went real smooth until I got to the last harness. The thing would not release the bulb. Finally I got it in a position that I could pry them apart.....what a pain. My mitts are a bit too big to have not removed some fairing. Its done...I'm done....time to ride.....

I didn't take a picture. I am going to take a spin around the block when it gets dark. The streets here are real dark so I will be able to see if there is any real difference. I will add a comment once I check the lights out in the dark.

I want to thank everyone for their responses to my thread. I appreciate all the info.

Just went out for a tear around the block. What a difference! The lows throw about the same light as the stock high and lows combined. Flick on the highs and the distance visibility down the road is increased dramatically. Needless to say I am happy. Too bad I have to work tomorrow.

What a cool thing to do for your father! (It is my late father's b-day today so I find your plan especially nice.) And BTW, what is the meaning behind your screen name? Tama drums by any chance? (I am a drummer.)

Sorry Rollin, don't know the number. I think most of us just buy aftermarket bulbs. I like the PIAA extreme whites...
