A long time Interceptor rider, anticipation of a new model has held me back from purchasing a new bike for the last two seasons. The anouncment of the new 1200 left me a bit disappointed.

Writing off of the V4, I began looking else where. As sad as the death of Buell may be (though some here may be secretly rejoicing), I walked into a Harley dealership this week and walked out with a 145hp, 375 lb (dry) Buell CR1125 for $3995 plus tax. If honda can make a suitable challenger in the next few years I'll gladly return. For now, lets see if you guys can keep up with what may be the last mass produced American sportbikes.

Wow, you can't beat a deal like that. Based on Eric Buell's comments on the video, all new units that are not yet sold will still be backed by the same warranty. With such a large company like Hardley backing them you should feel confident that parts availability won't be an issue for some time.

That deal would be very hard to pass up. I'd do it (if I had the $4K). Now you have a track bike!

Wow. I am seriously going to call a couple Harley/Buell dealers tomorrow morning to see if I can find a deal like that on an 1125R, 1125CR or Firebolt. I test rode an 1125R a month or so ago and like it. And while it's not a perfect bike - or even the best sportbike for me - this would be too good a deal to pass up.

I swear IF I can find such a sweet deal, I will find a way to afford it.

But of course I'll be keeping the VFR, too!

...as for parts, I was told Harley is obligated to provide replacement parts for 7 years

Visited a Buell dealer tonight. Firebolt is out - bars too tight and pegs too high. 1125CR was a possibility but they're sold out. (Salesman said they sold 6 or 7 Buells today alone.) 1125R is still avail, one each in white and red.

Talked turkey w/the salesman, will get some finance #s tomorrow, then we'll see, but I doubt I'll be buying a new bike this week. Price isn't bad but it's not a steal either. I'd rather wait and do for a bike I truly lust after in a few years.
