First day of my vacation is wanted to take my daughters for a drive up the Cali coast to let them see what it looks like. My brother suggested we head up to Solvang to take a look at a small vintage motorcycle museum there. The info we found on line said it had both a 400-4 and '70 750. Since I had a 400-4 and a '71 750 I figured it might be fun to get close to each of them again. I took a two steps inside the door and saw this thing!

None of the pictures I have ever seen of these bikes including mine, have ever done justice. Not only is this bike a work of art, it's engineering is still adavnced. Most amazingly the bike is not cordened off and I'm sure I left more than one nose print on the thing getting so close to it.

Yep, gorgeous bike. There is one at the Barber Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, AL as well. Or at least there was in June ;)

I saw this sweet machine win a race at Laguna Seca without half trying.
It was truly an awesome bike to hear at speed.
I had the pleasure of meeting Britten and bought a T-shirt from him.
So sad, such a genius died so young.

That is my absolute dream bike. I have never seen one in person and know they go for around $250K or so if you are lucky enough to find one of the 10 made that are being sold.

What is the address (physical and www) of where that is? I think I am going to make a trip down there.

Thank you sooooooo very much for posting.

    Mtn,
The web page for the place is:

    http://www.motosolvang.com/

There are directions and a map on the site.
That was actaully the first time I looked at thier web page and there also appears to be a few bike in thier collection that I didn't see (namely an 85 VF500), so you might want to call first to verify that a particular bike is actually on site. The setup was nice cause there is nothing to prevent you from leaning over the top of the bike and drooling on it. I was sitting on the floor next to it just staring at the suppension.

And I would be sitting on the floor  that I wasn't able to find the blasted ignition switch

Seriously thanks for the info, I too was able to find it on the web. I know I will be making a trip there soon. Now where was that family inheritance hidden? And when they ask me to leave......for some reason I wasn't able to hear them..:lalala:
