Here's a question for you guys .I have just been messing around with the ignition switch on my van, the key jammed itself in the switch and wouldnt turn off the other night. Stalled the car, but then had to dig around under the dash to unplug the ignition! Anyway, that got me thinking, why can't you start a bike with the key (as opposed to the start button)? I'm sure it would be possible for the manufacturers to do it, so I'm assuming it's some sort of safety reason, or that most people would need their right hand to operate the throttle. Thoughts?
Safety and yes, it's handle to have the throttle right there. Sometimes the bike needs a little extra gas to start and it would be to awkward trying to turn a key AND twist the throttle.
Ok, think I've got it. With the button it means both hands are on the bars when you start the bike. Though, if it's proving particularly uncooperative, I often find I have to use my left hand to push the button.
