a few questions: when you install the unit does it still read 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th?
    Does it still show N?
I know it does not show 1 and 2.

Is it easy to instal? I'm pretty rubbish at doing things myself as I'm just not really mechanically/physics minded, so am I likely to f@*k it up? Or can anyone fit one?

And does it do anything to the Honda warranty? Maybe I should search for the answer to that one before I ask it: I bet it's on here somewhere.

simple to install, find gear indicator plug behind frame just above gear shift linkage...unplug, plug z bomb inline hide back behind frame, wire tie it in place and enjoy !!!!( guaranteed u will) can't affect warranty unless they can prove that it caused problem ( that's US law ) install time,, 10 min max !!!! simple

Cheers for that. I think I'll ride it a little more before I decide whether to do it or not. The first few days with it haven't been too bad really, but I haven't ridden in the city much yet.

You won't miss it too much in wintery conditions but when it's dry the restrictions become bloody annoying.

I'm gonna keep mine on during winter. Installation was a matter of taking off the plastic cover alongside (or over?) the gear shaft, look for the OE connector on your left side, it's zip-tied too IIRC, unplug it, put the Z-bomb in between and zip-tie that too. Put the cover back on so the Z-bomb has a nice natural protection from the elements and is hidden from prying eyes. A 10-minute job indeed.

Cheers for that. Yours is the one that's rusted more then you would have liked eh? Do they use salt a lot in Belgium through the bad weather?

I'm in Scotland and am expecting it not to like our horrible winter.

Well-remembered, that would be me, yes. I can order everything in stainless from Pro-bolt but that wouldn't solve the brown ABS pick-up rings.
Ah Scotland. Was 15 when first I came there. Good times. Goofy weather.
A Scottish mate covered his bike in Tectyl before the winter, I remember him telling about how he rode through a horrible snow storm and entering a pub looking like a Yeti.
The bike, an Aprilia Futura, got through the winter totally unharmed once the Tectyl was washed off.

Bit of a thrifty character too, that guy named Rab.

I've never heard of Tectyl, so I shall check that out thanks. The Scottish weather is very unfortunate, as otherwise this is brilliant biking country. And yes they are thrifty here! My wife is Scottish but I am English, and there is definitely a different attitude to spending!
