Rode the bike to work today and it started fine this morning, first crank and varoom. Getting ready to leave after work and with a couple of cranks, varoom. I go maybe half a mile and gas it up, I then try to start it and it cranks 4 to 5 times then quits. It tried to fire off but didn't. I hit the starter again, it cranks a coupel of times, albeit slowly and fires right up. I noticed my odometer and clock were back to default. Is this an indication the battery is fixing to go tango uniform or is there something else lurking that I don't know about? The bike is an 06 and the battery is the original.

Replace the battery and take a quick check of the chargeing system, but I would suspect nothing more than a new battery is needed.
