The May 2009 issue of GQ magazine includes an article entitled "How to Build a Better Bachelor Party" (Pg. 72.)

On pg. 79, under Rule #21 ("D0 NOT COMMINGLE WITH BACHELORETTE PARTIES), I found the following advice to men to be rather thought provoking: "... You're honoring the end of singledom. They're ritualizing the beginning of commitment..."

How do you (men and women alike) feel about this statement?

Addendum/Caveat: Responses to this thread will only be truly illuminating if an equal number of men and women chime in. You can figure out how to give your partners equal voices by making them clearly identified guests and voices using your user name. Let them speak for themselves here as much as you do.

My wife said "it makes sense because the point is to go out with 'the guys' and the girls hang with 'the girls'. If they co-mingle isn't that just a big group date"?

Myself, well no women would be interested in my bachelor party. It involved 9 hours of shooting machine guns, eating, shooting some pistols, eating some more, shooting exploding targets at 400 yards, a little trap shooting, then more class III weapons.

And then more eating with drinking becasue the guns were put away.

In all honesty Red, I'm not much of a traditional bachelor party guy, but I knew I wanted to hang with my friends and shoot stuff up. My wife respected that and gave me the space, time and encouragemnt to do so.

What women wants to sit around while we are reloading clips and debate who's the best band currently? White Stripes I argued. Why .45ACP is the BEST pistol round ever developed and shooting a suppressed MAC-10 chambered in .45 makes a great home defense gun.

    You get the idea.

Nothing better than a good bachelorette party, show up AFTER the male stripper and mix a bunch of good margaritas.....be quick like ninja and escape before the hawt, drunk ass, friend of the bride wakes up the next day.....DO NOT let her fall asleep on your arm. If the option is available punt her and pay for the cab.
