I almost hit a black bear coming back from a ride in the North Georgia mountains about 1 month ago. I came around a sharp turn he was just sitting in the middle of the road. I braked hard and hit the horn and he took off running. It was a little scary but cool in the same way since I've never seen a bear in the wild before.

    Regards,
    Rollin

Coming across Ontario earlier this year, I came upon bears twice. Both were cows with cubs. I stopped for the first one. Then the thought occurred to me that momma bears will fiercely defend their cubs. So I kept on riding when I came upon the second one.

Those little cubs are cuties, though. The momma bears not so much. A local told me that they come out onto the roads to try to get away from the gawd-awful insects. I never saw so many mosquitoes in my life. I stopped at one point to put on my rain gear, and they swarmed all over me in an instant.

Have I digressed enough yet? Do I need to post an "off topic" icon?
