Kill switch (unless I'm working on the bike, turning it on and off for some reason) and bike parked on sidestand in 1st gear. The only time I leave it in neutral is when it's on the c-stand.

When going to work or coming home, I light it up 'bout a half mile away, ignoring red lights and stop signs then when I get within a thousand yards, I hit the front brake HARD, throw it up into a stoppie and starve it of fuel until it just shuts off as I'm puling into the driveway.
But if I were going to a friends house, I usually just pull up onto the lawn and do a burn out in the grass till my back tire is sunk in the ground enough to hold the bike up.

Key off, side stand, in gear, steering locked. If I won't be riding for a few days she goes on the center stand.

Slide into the driveway with the engine off and the kickstand down, run in the house to look up old threads on VFRW

Sometimes the key, sometimes the deadman switch, sometimes I stall it, and sometimes I put the side stand down and kill it. Variety is the spice of life.

I always stop with the bike in gear and put down the side stand which then stops the motor. I like this set up. I can't tell you how many times I've seen guys stop and a slight incline and get off their bike with it in nuetral and the bike starts to slide on the side stand.

 All of the above... depends entirely on the situation.

I find if I slightly overload the hopper with vfrchick brand VFR cupcake batter she will stall. But in the morning she will fire right up and buy the time I get to work I have breakfast!
