If there is anyone here who has replaced Vetch 02-09 VFR 800 cam chain tensioners with manual ones or anyone who knows a thing or two about them I could use some advice.

About 1500kms ago I took the bike into Honda and had them install ape manual ccts as I felt my stock ones were wearing out already at 30000kms. I decided to go with manual tensioners because I didn't want to have to replace them again in another 30k.

The mechanic at Honda who is supposed to be highly experienced installed the manual ones from ape and now im having problems with both the front and back. Firstly the back cct is leaking small drops of oil when I park the bike after a ride. On removing the heat shield and looking at the cct I found that the o-ring has been wrecked and is somehow out of place and melted by the engine. Secondly the front cct is already out of adjustment after only 1500km. Two days ago it started making the trade mark light ticking noise at idle. Its for sure coming from the front cyls.

As for the back cct I will have to take it back to the shop and have them fix it. Im hesitant because its a fairly simple install and a simple device and I cant see any other way of them having messed up the o-ring other then sheer armature work probably done in a rush with out being checked. Who knows what else the will mess up if I take it back.

As for the front. Is there anyone here that has installed Manual ccts and has developed a method or system for easily reaching down the front of the bike and adjusting the front with out having to remove the tank, the airbox and the throttle body. I know that in order to install a cct in the front the install can be done with out removing the throttle body. Im wondering now that its installed if there is an easy way for me to adjust it with out taking it back to the shop and spending a hundred dollars for the work. Perhaps a special long tool.

Also I had these manual ccts installed under the impression that I would maybe have to adjust them once every 10 or 15 thousand kilometers. Is it normal that the front would require re adjusting after only 1500 km.

Does anyone know the best way to safely adjust these things.

If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it. I don't want to take the bike back to Honda. This is not the first time they have done such poor quality work for a lot of money.

(also sorry about the punctuation. Not that anyone is checking likely but my question mark key isn't working.)
