    Hey Everybody,
I'm new to VFR World, but not to the VFR. I've been obsessed with this bike since seeing them in the early 80's as a little kid.
My first bike was a 49 state 1985 VF700f, obviously used but in nearly perfect stock condition. I sold that bike nearly 18yrs ago, and have regretted it since the minute that guy rode it out of sight.
I now have a pristine '98 that hasn't gotten out much since getting married and having two little ones. Anyway, long story short I let is sit a little too long and now can't get it to start. When I first tried to turn it over, I could here the fuel pump struggling to operate.
I replaced the fuel pump with a new unit from Honda. When I drained the tank the fuel was dark yellow and had these brown globs of something in it. (as seen in the picture.)
I've completely rinsed the tank out, installed the new fuel pump, and fresh Chevron 91 octane fuel. The bike turns over and sounds like it wants to start, but doesn't. I figure something must be clogged with that brown stuff. I'm planning on pulling the injectors and cleaning them next.
I thought I would check in here to see if anyone knows what the brown stuff could be or any advice regarding my problem.

    Thank you,

First off, welcome to the world.
The '98 you just got, has it been run the last year or so? The gas that we've all been getting as of late with all the corn in it don't much like our bikes.

I've had my bike for about 10yrs. But have ridden it very little the past few years. The gas in the tank is well over a year old, and I probably haven't started it for about a year. My bad.

It's old gas, make sure you change the fuel filter as well.
    BTW, welcome to VFRW.

I am afraid it will never start again. Being the nice guy I am, I will take it off your hands for 100$.
