So I went out today for a quick ride thru one of my favorite areas. Took my much loved & very capable VFR. The weather was good, nice temps. A bit more traffic than I like, but I wasn't trying to set any records, not on the street

On my way out, I came across this:

Saw some friends I knew by the side of the road & stopped to find out what had happened. My friends were also just out enjoying the day & had come up on the accident. The guy apparently came in to the turn too hot & hit the pole. The rider got away with only minor (relatively) injuries ... pretty damn lucky if you ask me. A terrible thing to do to a GSXR-750 ... but then, the extended swingarm is an insult to these gals as well :tsk:. Rider also apparently was not wearing ATG, so truly blessed if somewhat an idiot

My ride back was nice & uneventful ... the accident scene was still being worked when I went by again.

You just can't fix crazy... luckily, maybe on a wing and a prayer the rider learned something, but probably not.
