Was wondering how many here actually know what their VFR weighs? I went to the garbage dump which they weighed just for the fun of it, Mine is 532lbs. topped off, with me obviously not on the bike. Manual says it should weigh 525lbs not sure, probably less fuel, so with my exhaust can swap this is pretty close.
    How's yours stack up?

Hi RVFR-- You always come up with this interesting stuff... I will have to try, as the dump is pretty close and I would love to know how truly porky :flypig: this bike is.

It surely can't match my 93' CBR1000F that my friends lovingly called "PIGGY", funny my best friend had one too although his was Wht/BLk and they named him "ORCA". :caked:

well, looking at motorcyclist mag, which claims to measure cycle weight , full of fuel, ready to go, the current VFR weighs 557 lbs. Which sounds heavy , but the new sprint is listed at 552. Even the Duc. ST4 is at 521.
Somehow the VTR 1000 comes in at 480 lbs, Fireblade 451. Why are 'touring bikes' so heavy ? fairing, huge H'light assemblys, a little for 'pillion ' BUT I'd think the frame / susp. of an all out 1000 cc sportbike would need to be overbuilt. BUT 100 lbs over the Fireblade ? Me thinks VFR is due for a diet.

Was thinking I've heard / read that too, but when looking info on the 6th gen they're claiming a dry weight of 508lbs if thats true then they did make em lighter. thing is I don't feel it going down the road. which was another reason I didn't get one.

    I bought a 2005 600 zzr ,weight is 377 lb. dry .
With over 100 hp and a cheep suspention it was not nearly as composed as the VFR .Other than saving it when sitting still and droping it . I dont notice 100 pounds or more, and I spend thuosands of dollars on trick parts to pull 10 or 20 lb. off my VFR .
Dosn't make sence dose it ?
