ABS light removal?

Hello all, first post here. New to the site but far from new to bikes. I just picked up an 06 that has had an interesting life and has a salvage title. Most things are sorted but the ABS light is on nonstop. I haven't dug much into it but there is no sign of a front wheel speed segmented ring nor cable to go to a non existing sensor. My thinking is that the bike does not have ABS but the dash was replaced with one that did. I plan on digging around and seeing if any other components are there but if as I suspect, they are not, what is the easiest way to disable the light? I could look at the diagram and snip whatever wire feeds it but thought I would ask around and see if there was a better answer. Thanks in advance for any help. Looking forward to riding this thing.

 

Why not just pull the bulb?

 

I honestly figured that would be much harder to get to. I downloaded the manual but it unfortunately does not have the schematic for ABS.

 

I tend to agree with the bulb option. Now getting to it does require some dissasembly unfortunately but hey, it is just another oportunity to get to know your bike better. You will need to take the fairings off including the upper which holds the headlights so you can pull the cluster and get at the heart of the matter. Of course you could just install a piece of strategically located black tape over it so it doesn't drive you nuts till you hae time to get the job done.
