I had problems with the stock diode rectifiers, even with the vfrness and a brand new stator. So i decided to go with the 99 vfr rr because it has mosfet, i had got everything from wiremybike so i had him wire the 99 for my 95 its great i love it. Idle as 13.5 to 13.8 and instantly jumps to 14.2 to 14.5 with throttle
Im a little wary of toasting another in the summer heat, so i decided to mount and wire a switched computer fan to keep it cool in traffic or in case of extended highway travel

I too replaced my reg with a fh014. So much cooler. No need for a fan. Problem I had was the spade connectors to the stator got super hot. Almost too hot to touch. I cut off the spade terminals and soldered the wires together. Now a little warm but not hot to the touch. Amazing what a little resistance can do. Voltage is higher and much more stable. If you have not done this check the terminals to the stator.
