For a preview you could read this thread and kind of follow along. I am not good at describing, but there are many others that can. https://www.vfrworld.com/threads/stray7hundie-rebuild.60231/
Remove EVERYTHING. Each carb has a vent spigot that needs to be capped/plugged. I found it is easiest to re-use some of the small vacuum hose you just removed to connect the rear carbs together, same for the front. Make sure you don't interfere with sliding enrichener linkage. One carb (can't remember which one from memory) has a vacuum spigot that exits in a different spot than the vents. VACUUM, so properly cap / plug it. ** Make sure you correctly identify the vacuum spigot, and don't connect it to a vent ** Vent cross-over tubes exit to the rear of the carbs. Use some hose you removed and install a short piece that is directed down. This needs to stay vented to atmosphere. You can put a small crankcase-type air filter on it, but it's not needed. Stock they just point straight down and are held in place by a small clamp on the diaphragm cap. Air box has a spigot that enters under the air filter (in front I think). Cap that. Check that any intake casting under the carb insulators has a vacuum nipple. Cap or replace with same screw as others have. 750's didn't have fittings on the front head. If your VFR does, remove the pipes and use the fittings to make block off plates. Or just cut, fold over and crimp if you're a hack. Verify your pilot jet size. I recommend a #42 if you are doing any custom exhaust work. Congratulations. You just made a 49 State VFR.
