    hello all,
my seat is a little bit loose. i notice on the underside of the seat near the rear theres a little metal piece that is supposed to fit in the hole of the helmet locking mechanism (the part with the return spring, where the cable ends) underneath the seat. For whatever reason i cant get it to lock and stay in the hole... ive tried turning the lock as i push down but it won't hold.. Anybody run into a similar problem? thanks in advance

I just had my seat off and was looking at those parts recently.

I took the tail plastic off (and sold it) and the seat, but, I"m at work and working from memory, so this might be a bit off...

ok, so, the helmet/seat lock holds onto one end of a cable, and the other end is attached to the actual mount point of the seat. the mount point a spring loaded clasp that locks it down, and when you turn the helmet lock, it pulls it away, letting it come free

check the fit of your seat mounts against the mount point, check the spring to make sure it's all hooked up correctly, and then check the cable operation.

(that's if it's loose in the rear)

also, make sure you hook into the tabs in the front

    (if it's a seat issue, I've got one for you ;) )

A very common problem covered before....do a search of "stupid seat latches"

Basically You need to BEND UP the moving blade that latches on the seat post, mostly at the hole area.
