Hey guys, just a quick question about my old interceptor. This is my first season with it and we are having record breaking heat in St. Louis (like most of the country), so I was wondering how far past the middle of my temp indicator is okay to keep running and when do I need to stop and let it cool down. Any driving around town it stays around 1/4 percent, but if I ride on the interstate to work it can get past halfway.
Also I was wondering if someone put an aftermarket sprocket on my bike, to keep up around 70 mph on the interstate I have to ride in the top gear and usually around 6500 rpms...but it is really quick on the low end.
    Thanks for schooling a newbie

My Ole-Girl is running half to three quarter in this heat.
Took her out yesterday in the oppressive 102+ fourth of July heat.

A very common problem on older Hondas that can cause overheating is a failed radiator thermoswitch. You need to know that the cooling fan switches on proppaly at temps above 3/4 range.

Touching the wire going to the thermoswitch to a ground (key on) should activate the fan.
