Good Morning. I'm new to a 84 VF 750 Interceptor and it has a feeling that the steering is stuck when rolling but when stopped steering moves free. the fork seals are leaking. Is this a front suspension problem or did I get into something bigger than that. My plan is to restore this bike and took the chance that fixing the forks would fix this steering issue. Thanks for any help.

    Mike

How many miles are on the bike? Has it ever had the steering head bearings changed? The fork seals wouldn't make the steering rough or stiff. A lack of fork oil (from it leaking out from the bad seals) would make the front of the bike bouncy from a lack of dampening. Just some random thoughts, not based on experience with the 84 VF 750, but with motorcycles in general.

By the way, welcome to the forum, & post pictures of the bike. :welcome:

Here is the bike I just picked up. The steering feels really heavy. I ride a ST1100 daily and maybe it's just normal but it caught me off guard. I will keep checking to it . Thanks for the help.

    Is the front tire cupped?

    Hello :yo:

I have an 83 VF45, & I would concur that the steering is a bit heavy (But not binding in any way).
