In the summer of 2012 I acquired a 84 VF500F with about 18,000 miles on it. It had been knocked off a trailer while being transported and had not been started in 16 years.
Over three months I managed to get it running and now it serves as my faithful commuter. However I wish to synchronize the carbs but the tool recommended in my manual (Honda part# 07908-KE70000) is $85 from my local Honda dealer.
Does anyone have any experience with a tool that would work? I have seen this (Motion Pro Pilot Screw Adjusting Tool - BikeBandit.com) mentioned but it was not clear on whether or not it actually fit.
Also does any experience with re-jetting this particular bike?

Just look in the tools section of a Parts Unlimited catalog. I use the Motion Pro tools. It's a pain, no doubt about it, but using the right tool helps a lot.
