I am rebuilding an '84 VF700F and need a donor engine. The bike is completely stripped to the frame and should have frame ready for engine in about a month. The engine I pulled out of the frame was seized not to mention there were cracks in the cases. Really I am just looking for any engine that will bolt into the VF700F frame, whether it is a 500 or 1000, VF, VFR, whatever. Obviously if I could get my hands on a 700 I would go with that, but I am seeing a lot of 500s on Ebay in decent condition near me. I know there are some people on here who think I am wasting my money, but honestly this is for the experience so please only helpful feedback. This is more about the process of building a bike. Obviously I'm not going to sink a ton of money into this...

    Thanks.

A VF1000F engine would be a possibility, but the 500's are very different and won't work. Any year VF700F or VF750F would be a direct fit as well. Lots of 700's were sold so you might be able to find one of those as easily as a 1000.

I hope you find something soon!
