So, I currently have my bike on the market, 1990 in excellent shape, 37k on the odometer. I've been contacted by someone that wants to trade even up for a 2002 Honda ST 1100 with 72K on the ticker.

What would you all think of this trade even up.

    Thanks.

This is his ad, I've spoken to him by phone and he seems like a genuine person.

if your not mechanicaly inclined, that bike is reaching a point where it will need some work, I think unlike the vfr it is a bike that requires more special tools such as pullers etc to service it. Heavy mileage muncher, if its a clean one owner bike, it might be close. Remember your bike is an easy 100,000 mile bike...

What happened, you visited south FL and never called, I am hurt...:pout:

Florida was a wild ride this time, the bike ran flawlessly, I only ever had to adjust the chain. I do appreciate the offer though. I had a blast and will return next winter as well, possibly on this ST. I am fairly inclined mechanically, and I have my brother and a friend who are masterful, I'm thinking I may just take the chance here.

I would pass on it simply because it is much harder to wheelie than your 3rd Gen

    Yeah Yeah I know I'm a jackass.

Mine won't wheelie without great encouragement from the clutch. Plus I saw the 'wrecked it' video, I don't want to go down that path.

When considering value alone, I feel like this will be a good deal for me, assuming it's mechanically sound.

gota follow your heart then...ST looks like a scooter with an endo-crine disorder imho. Actually, I kinda hate them truthfully, you want a better deal>? I would get an older Kawi Concours, one that is carburated...Thats just me tawking though. All the STs I have ridden, I never cared for them...
