25th Anniversary Edition?

I love my 2007 Anniversary Edition bike, but I can't understand how it qualifies as a 25th anniversary. Isn't the first VF750 from 1983? Wouldn't that make 2008 the 25th year?

 

I think that the 25th Anniversary Edition celebrates the motor, which was introduced in 1982 in the Sabre and Magna models.
