Does the 2000 vfr yellow have a two tone paint scheme. Are fenders and rear cowl a different shade yellow than the tank and side fairings? Looking at a bike than is this way. Owner said he bought it used that way. Also side fairings don't have any vfr decals. any info about this? thanks.

I understand that the 2000 yellow is a pearl color. as such, they have found that the pearls require the paint to be done in the same orientation or you'll get a different look due to light reflection. That is, if a panel is painted, it needs to be done in its final set, up and down, etc, or the pearl will look different in the light. Helps if they are all painted at the same time, also. The Honda pearls are a 3 stage paint, base, color, and clear.

you might be buying a rebuild.... take a close look at all the original welds on the frame.. and look at the title to see if it is a salvage title........but then again maybe the plastics got junked and thesea re from a different one....

    Good luck....

Thanks guys, that's kinda what I thought. no factory 2 tone paint schemes.
Orriginal owner may had repainted and it makes some sense about direction of paint spray.

Sounds like a repaint of the tank and fairing from going down or a crash. Two things to do IMO if you are considering a purchase of the bike is a Carfax and taking the bike to a skilled and experienced automotive painter for an opinion.
