It hit 40ish degrees today so I got to take a ride. Last night I pulled the Battery out of the ZRX, and put it on my 1 amp charger. About 2 pm today I reinstalled the batt, and she fired right up. Put on the longjohns and all the gear, including a baclava. Rode about 35 miles, did'nt feel cold at all. After over 2 months off the bikes the Rex felt like brand new. New rear tire has restored the easy handling of this bike, felt real intuitive. The massive torque of this thing never ceases to amaze me....I had a wide grin inside my helmet! Ran her hard through the gears a few times, rolled it on in top gear from down low a few times, dang this thing is strong! So i get back home, open the garage........there sits the arrest me red VFR........cleaned, re-fluided, sitting on brand new Road Attacks. I abandoned my thoughts of keeping it off the sandy streets, rolled her out, and fired her up. She warmed up while I put the Rex up. Both bikes have titanium Akrapovics....... Honda really barks. The new tires transformed this bike's ride, and it rolls into corners very sweetly. The roads are sandy, but the RA's seem well suited for the conditions. Man this bike is a hoot, particuliarly above 5000rpm. The gear cams and that bark turning to a V-4 howl over 9000 rpms, is a compelling reason to keep twisting the throttle. Never seems to run out of gears either (the Kawi always feels like you need another),r I was sweeping north of 120mph and I pulled up on the gear lever just for grins......snick.......6th........sweet! Can't wait to go for a 300 mile loop, I really like the bar, peg, handlebar, seat position, fit's my 5'11" frame nicely, and the fairing does a nice job too. 75mph+ and all my weight is off my wrists. I couldn't be happier! I am a lucky man!:biggrin::biggrin:
