I've got a pretty 85 VF500 in pretty good shape, bought it a week ago but just the last 2-3 days when I start it up i'm getting a tick in the engine but then it goes a way, almost like something is loose when its cold but tightens up when it heats and expands. The noise doesn't last but naturally I'm still concerned. Any thoughts?
Proper maintenance is the key to the VF500F's longevity. If you don't know the history of the bike as first step I would inspect and adjust the valves. It's a must have on a VF500F owner's library shelf!
