    lol...sorry.

You and I will get most of the parts since we are close.

Did you ever talk to that guy in Toronto with the VF500 with no ownership?

No. It sounds a little dishonest based on him posting a pic of another bike as you found out.

I want the motor, excluding heads from the guy near you. Is that what you want too?

My bottom end is fine....I need heads.

I just don't know if they will fit my 86 block.

Could use the 86 front fairing if it's in good shape and a seat.

Invisible Cities will likely have some input, but my hunch as that they would work fine. Essentially what you would have is an 84-85 motor with your 86 carbs and rad. Essentially what I had before my rebuild. I say this because it seems that the only real motor change that anyone cites between the 84-85 and the 86 is the heads. It would be worthwhile for you to take the time to cross-check all of the part numbers between the too.

When I go on bike bandit and check the "Crankcase set"....

The part numbers for 1986 VF500F are different than the part numbers for the 1984 and 1985 Magna and Interceptors.

    ????

Interesting. I guess that answers that question. I wonder what else is different...

Yea that's the million dollar question with the VF500's.

Rockers are the same for all 3 years.

Valves and cams are the same for 84 and 85

Head gaskets are different for all 3 years.

Seems like the 86 has mostly unique parts for that year.

if he sells the heads cheap maybe i'll buy em just so I can see if they'll fit.

Anyone - What would be a reasonable price to pay for the disassembled motor with no heads? Rebored, new Wiseko pistons, main and connecting bearings, etc. installed. I know that pistons and rings are somewhat hard to get a hold of.

Not on the 500. They never went gear driven.

I don't know what I'd offer for that. How much is it bored over?

If it had an OEM windscreen w/ trim in really good shape I'd ask one of you guys to grab it for me. I want to try to darken one, and don't wanna botch mine if it doesn't work.

True indeed the '84/'85 and '86 VF500F engines have chain driven cams - but - why the bad press on this design?
