1984 1000 suspension settings

    Can someone enlighten me on the handle bar and side settings for my bike?What's soft ,firm etc...... Thanks Brian

    Actually, the stock adjustments don't do a whole heck of a lot. Pretty much run whatever feels best to you as the handling won't really be affected on way or the other that much. The damping rod technology in the forks doesn't work very well and the rear shock is total junk.

    To answer your question more directly - 1 is soft, 2 is firmer, etc.

    There is only one setting that should be used on the TRAC device: #1. Anything else will cause the braking distance to be increased significantly.

    I'd recommend replacing the stock fork fluid with 10wt and see how it feels. I don't pump up the air in the forks either. You might also consider installing some Progressive springs to help it out. Then you'll want a good rear shock to go with them! Makes a huge difference.
