1983 VF750F Wheel Conversion???

I have done a few searches and have found quite a bit of info on the 86-87 VFR's, but has anyone ever converted an '83?? I still have the factory 37mm tubes, 16" front, and 18" rear. I was looking at putting new tires on and found that my current choices pretty much suck so....... From what I have read, it sounds like the F2 trick may work, but if I do it should I bite the bullet and do the tubes, wheels, swingarm, shocks, and brakes? Let me know what you guys think, and if you can point me to more info that would be cool too.

Thanx for the reply. I had already found that link from one of my searches, but it is definitely a good source of info. Basically then, the mod for an 83 is the same and I can do it following the info that I have found so far. As far as your parts, I think that I will shop around a bit. I have been bookmarking stuff on eBay and I think that I may go that way, but we'll see.

Mike, unless you have access to a machine shop(or have a friend that does), look up a member here named Jamie Daugherty. He can make the necessary spacers for you. His website is www.daughertymotorsports.com

 

Just to clarify - it's more than just spacers that are required. There is machining that needs to be to done to the sprocket carrier and the speedometer drive hear housing. You also need a new caliper bracket for the rear. There are more details on my site, if more information is needed shoot me a PM.
