Here it is Read and Weep! This weekends Dyno 113Hp @ 10900 RPM!!! This is NOT a fake it was done at the Ridenow Grand Opening in Concord NC. The bike has around 5600 Miles. Mods are Scorpion Exhaust K&N Air Filter & opened up air box by disableing the vacum controled flap and removed snorkel.

Ok I need an air filter and exhaust system pronto. 113? I love it.
A PCIII is the first purchase though, then the laser exhaust...

That's gotta be at the crank, you'd be about 100 at the rear wheel.

You have the worlds most powerful VFR yet you're using the same (and less) mods everyone else has used for years. Pipes and filter should lean it out with a stock map.

Auto repair place? Is it a car dyno?

The Dyno was one of the trailer mounted rigs for bikes only and was calibrated on the bike just before mine.

I think there may be a calibration issue here. Your graphs look very similar to others I have seen with similar mods, except everything is 10 points higher on yours.

any number of things could be off when your talking about dyno's. they are after all not a true HP measuring device. If you make a run on one dyno, and then make another run on a different (brand) dyno, the numbers won't be the same. the only way to tell for sure of verifiable "gains" is to do a baseline test before modding. this baseline test will also tell you how this dyno compares to others by how the graph has shifted up or down from other dyno's (with the same bike type).

Sorry, but no. Unless their correction method was adding in what they are guessing for drive line losses or something to come up with at the crank, there is something wrong with that dyno.

I'll have to agree with fotomoto and call BS on this one. Check with your Dyno guy, somethings wrong with these numbers. (Did you edit this chart with PhotoShop? No offence meant, just asking.)

This dyno looks perfectly legit, measuring hp at the crank is about 15% over measuring at the rear wheel, which would be corrected to about 99 hp here - that's right in line with the mag tests. Just so the original poster understands his bike makes the same power all the other 6th gen bikes do it's all good.

Agreed. Dynos are good for relative comparisons: same dyno, same day. Compare 2 diff bikes one after the other: "mine is x% more/less HP than yours". Another useful application is to determine relative gains/losses from modifications (relative being the key term here too...percentages).

The absolute HP/TQ # is not as useful. In addition, there are also other variables that are useful to know (seem to be omitted from this chart printout): dyno model, correction factor, air temp, humidity, etc...

[edit] - I think I see correction factor at the bottom of the graph...Standard

Why can't some things just be taken at face value ? I was a car motorhead for 15+ years and those guys had no problem believing minor mods could bring 5 Horses or more each no problem ! So I say why is 15Hp for a bike so hard to believe ?

Because dozens if not hundreds of other people have done the same mods and more, and no one has come anywhere close to those kinds of numbers. Go try another dyno.

The highest numbers I have ever heard out of a VFR without a big bore or forced induction are my friend Jason's. He has 98-99 headers installed (larger and no cat), PC3, slipon, and a strong engine to begin with. 109.3hp - 59.2tq

I've gone 170mph on my VFR. Would you take that at face value because thats what my speedo said? I hope not.

No one's shooting you down, just cautioning about the dyno numbers and some skepticism about 15% RWHP gains based on the mods you've done. Thats quite a bit for basic bolt on.

But ultimately who cares? If you feel its pulling stronger w/ those mods & you're happy w/ it, then kudos! Keep enjoying the VFR, its a solid bike.

100 hp is enough for a bike our size to keep up with anything out there on the street. Another 13 hp is totally meaningless, as is 60 more - just ask the guys on liter bikes that can't outrun me though the twisties.

Yeah I guess I just can't get rid of the 4-wheel Motorhead thinking. Push Hp to the MAX!

No one is taking shots at you 25th, just the dyno chart you posted. don't take the scheptics personal. When you go to a different dyno, you may not feel bad if it is lower, or you'll be justified if it is nuts-on the same :)

It is interesting that a lites bike won the Motocross of Nations mixed heat both time it's been held in the US, the laptimes for the 600's and 1000's are not as different as one might expect if horsepower were the major factor.

Sure, for drag racing in a straight line, horsepower is king.

But put some corners in and the go-fast math changes.

Enjoy your bike :) I'm enjoying mine so much that it's time for new tires.

I wouldn't really worry about getting another dyno, just seems like a waste of money to me. The only fact I do know is that no two dyno's are the same, Here is a picture of the Dyno on my 99, everybody says it might be a little on the high side but my butt Dyno says the PClll was worth every penny...
