As in, cruising down the road and it's "hit the Kill switch" dead. It has done it a few times VERY infrequently, but recently it has become a lot more frequent. I can sometimes turn the switch off and the kill switch off and then back on and get it started. Sometimes I have to pull over. When I get started again, it will occasionally die when I let the clutch out (if I'm in gear, not sire about if I'm not). If there's any other information that would be useful, fire away. If I don't remember it, i'll get the bike fired up and check. It's happening frequently now.

I checked the R/R (cause it's something I knew how to do and it's easy) no probs there (Voltage remains constant from idle to 5K RPMS). I pulled the saidecowl off and pulled off the side stand switch and (a) it was REAL dirty (oily dirt) down in the area and (b) there was a little oil on the connections.

I'm not real knowledgable about the ins and outs about motorcycles, but I do have the service manual and just need a few pointers about where to go from here.

    Thanks for any help.

Maybe your kickstand switch is loose? You know, the one that kills the engine if the kickstand is down and the bike is in gear?

That's what I was thinking (and why I tore apart that to see what was up with the kickstand switch). I suppose I was wondering if there was something else I should be looking at (kill switch, etc) and, if so, how would I go about testing it.
