I do not place the front all in and then the back - just doesn't work for me. Position all 4 carbs into the approx position & press down...
Do NOT use a HEAT GUN - Use a Hair dryer.... I find attaching the boots to the carbs & then fitting is easier.. Undo the clamps more than you...
Really easy with a multimeter - once the engine is at about 106C / 230F the fan should switch on. The switch creates a circuit to earth which...
For putting the carbs back in a smear of KY Jelly on the rubber boots is perfect... The Castrol Grease will also work fine in this purpose - BUT...
I suspect the previous owner installed the switch rather than buy a new thermo-switch to fix the issue.
i use Castro red rubber grease for all orings.. Makes more of a difference than you would think.. Don't worry about having to pull the carbs...
Front / rear is the normal pairing. But don’t know for this model... although would put a beer on it.
Reverse bleeding or pressurised bleeding is where I would try next. Using a large syringe is remarkably effective.

Well done on the job so far... You may as well make your own gaskets for the sidecovers - just buy a couple of sheets of gasket paper - it costs...
