it might be a vacuum leak, look for a cracked or disconnected hose. check the plugs, see if its running lean

there are GPS units that calculate speed accurately as well with no installation issues
the low beam always goes first, its easy to ride with one bulb out and not know it until the other goes out. you can check the bulbs & the sockets...
