Hey TG! Glad you are digging the VFR! A 5 hr ride woulda put me in a hospital! YIKES! Sounds like you're having a good summer of riding so far. Within the last 3 mths, I've put more miles on the V than I ever have. There's a ride posted at PNWRiders.com this next weekend that starts in Salem, heads through Detroit over to Estacada. Might be a good loop for you Portlanders. ....could meet up in Salem and split in Estacada ...? Just a thought. Here's the link

I just wanted to get in the loop and introduce myself. I live in NE PDX and ride a 96 VFR. This is my third summer back after 30 years of not riding so I'm still feeling my way around on the bike. I like to ride the back roads. Went last Saturday up the Washougal River road and then to Skamania Lodge for eats and back. I'm thinking about running down to Rockaway tomorrow, Thursday 11th, to mow the yard and then ride back in case anyone is interested. Keep me in mind for future rides. I went Sunday to the coast and had clam chowder at Moe’s in Lincoln City and had a great time although by myself. This week end (Friday) I’m headed to Baker for the Hells Canyon Rally you can always tag along. I’m going with a group of great guys and gals all on sport bikes. If not maybe the following week end?
