There are locking tabs that join the side fairing to the upper cowl. There are also two bolts or plastic locking clips on the underside of the bike that will need to be removed. You have to be very careful when putting the plastic on or taking it off because the bodywork will be very brittle due to its age and will crack very easily. I'll take some pics when I get home. What is your email address?
I need help. I just bought a 1991 VFR 2 weeks ago for my wife. I go to change the oil today only to be stumped by how to get the left middle fairing plastic off. Is it necessary to remove the lower fairing for some reason. I undone all the 1/4 turn screws on the bottom, top and front under the tire and get everything loose except where the fairing meets the top fairing, near the hex bolt. I know that it has some type of lock there but I couldn't figure it out. Which way do you pull the plastic, out toward you, slide back to the rear. How does this unlock. What am I missing? Please just help, no flaming is necessary. I feel dumb enough already. Thanks Tom
