    Not wanting to abuse the VF1000Rs, I also have a later model R1 and a 1985 Yamaha V-Max for "normal riding". The VF1000Rs are too delicate and hard to get parts for anymore, to really enjoy riding regularly, IMHO.

    Seasoned (I don't like to say senior) rider... I've had my current ''85 VF1000R for nearly 10 years. Wanted one desperately in high school when they came out, but finally got one nearly 20 years later. Previous bikes include other Honda V-fours. My '86 is a more recent acquisition, and is on a display stand in my living room with 291 original miles on it, where it will stay as long as I own it, or as long as my wife allows....
