Also here is Spirit Lake, once serene and surrounded by forest and with a Lodge. Now all of that is buried under 200' of volcanic ash. This is the northeast end of the lake. It's totally covered with blown down tree trunks and if you didn't realize there was water nder it, you'd think this was a strange area of tree trunks piled in such a way as to look like so many toothpicks.
