Sorry if this is a repeat post, but...

My 06 had a nap in the garage a while ago and the brake pedal is bent, in and up. I imagine this has happened to more that a few folks here. So, are there any comments out there about bending it back? Will it snap? How many have straightened their pedal successfully, and how?

    Thanks for any feedback.

When I laid my bike down my shifter bent and I just bent that back. Though you don't push a shifter nearly as hard as you do a brake. You should be able to bend it back without consequence. But if you're worried I'd just order a replacement.

I'd try to bend it back. You have nothing to loose. But, I'd take it off the bike first to avoid possible damage to other connected parts.

if you are really nervous you could heat it a bit, but it probably isn't necessary...

    1) Take the pedal off the bike.

    2) Wrap it up in a rag & then fold a piece of cardboard around it.

    3) Place it in a vice & tighten down. The vice will bend it back to shape quite easily & the rag & cardboard keep it from scratching.

    4) Reinstall & happy motoring.

If not, it's $71.72 from Ride Now.

    KC-10 FE out...
